Iolite Jewellery

The iolite jewellery gemstone is a beautiful violet blue in colour and the name ‘iolite’ comes from the Greek word for violet. An iolite will show different colours depending on the angle you view the stone at, these range form a sapphire blue to yellow grey and a gorgeous violet colours. Some people would consider this gem as an inexpensive alternative to tanzanite.

Mined from Madagascar, Sri Lanka, Brazil and India, the gemstone has a harness of 7-7.5 on the Mohs scale.
